Lazy Junior has been working on his Rat trying to get the body finished.
He has been helped by his good mate Ben, who is his neighbour.
The roof section is now complete and the section below the windscreen sorted. Its one of those jobs where you spend hours and hours for not much show. But its worth it as the work done by Junior and Ben looks great.
Junior has been trying to tackle a few problems on the Rat that needs sorting. The rear wheels don’t come off as the body was lowered over the chassis. The only solution is to extend the wheel arches by 50mm. The other issue was the steering connecting rod wanted to occupy the same space as the engine sump. Junior has been looking at several options, thats why the engine has been removed and the suspension is currently in pieces. The plan now is to put it all back together and stick with plan A, modify the sump.
Ben……..remind junior to keep you in beer when working on the Rat, thirsty work this welding and panel beating.
Photos below showing the current progress.
Forgot to mention the rusty sills will be replaced with a section of box section, when fitted you will be unable to see it, as it will be underneath.
Will keep you updated as Junior, and his mate Ben tackle the rest of the body work.
