This will be a very short update, not a great to say about fitting the front axle.
With the axle previously shortened it was placed in a rough position to where I thought it should be.I noticed that the wheels were seized by the calipers, it was decided not to free them yet as it would help setting up the axle and stop it rolling around.
The axle was tilted back 6 degrees, it a bit like the steering on a push bike, if it didn’t have a rake then it would be hard to control the steering.
When I was 100% happy the axle was held in position by welding a piece of angle from the chassis to the mounting plate on the axle.

The next few publications will cover the fitting of the 4 bars, steering box and linkages and the dreaded front spring, currently on my 4th attempt to get it right.
